15th Quadrennial Meeting of the World Society of Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce the 15th quadrennial meeting of the World Society of Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery (WSSFN), to be held in Toronto from May 24- 27, 2009.

There is a tremendous amount of novel development in this field particularly with the application of neuromodulation techniques in cutting edge areas including psychiatry, movement disorders, pain and even cognition. The meeting will highlight world authorities giving plenary lectures, and will feature highly innovative and high-impact presentations selected amongst the very best of the submitted abstracts.

Toronto is a lovely city and is particularly enjoyable during the month of May. Attendees should take advantage of the local and nearby attractions including the Niagara Peninsula with its vineyards and of course Niagara Falls. Do not miss the McMichael Gallery of Canadian Art and the several museums in Toronto, not to mention the exciting outdoor opportunities that are available in the immediate vicinity.

We very much look forward to greeting you at the historic Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto for what promises to be an exciting meeting full of discussion, controversy, innovation and friendship.

Yours sincerely,
Andres M. Lozano, MD, PhD
President, WSSFN
